What this site is
NOLA Raised Home provides educational information and helps Greater New Orleans homeowners connect with an independent local service provider for qualifying structural repair requests. We are an information and referral property. We are not a contractor, engineer, or inspector, and we do not perform structural work.
What happens when you request help
- You describe what you are noticing in the request form. You do not need to know what needs repair.
- NOLA Raised Home receives the request and checks whether it looks like a raised-home structural concern in our service area.
- If it does, we share it with one independent local service provider, not with several companies at once. If it does not look like a fit, it is not sent to anyone, and we may not be able to reply.
- The provider decides whether the job is within its scope. If it is, the provider contacts you by the method you chose to talk about next steps, including any in-person evaluation. The provider is responsible for its own estimate, contract, pricing and work.
How we are compensated
The provider may pay NOLA Raised Home for referrals. You pay nothing to us, and you are never required to hire the provider. Our compensation does not change what our guides say, and our editorial policy describes how we keep the two separate.
What we do not do
- We do not diagnose structural conditions from a description or photos.
- We do not guarantee that any provider will accept a particular job or offer a particular price, and we do not guarantee any provider or its work.
- We do not check a provider’s license or insurance on your behalf, so check any contractor yourself.
- We do not promise the outcome of any repair.
- We do not send your request to several competing providers, and we do not automatically pass it to another provider if the first one cannot help.
Get a second opinion any time
You are free to get additional bids or an independent structural engineer’s assessment. For significant structural conditions that is often sensible.
